Went to visit with my high school senior who would like to enroll. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly and competent woman who took us to the Lobby as we waited for our tour. Very shortly we were greeted by Mike who gave us an incredible tour of this very clean, huge facility. He was so informative about the different programs, housing, financial aid, etc. He answered all of our questions and I am happy to say my son will be starting in August.

Great people but, they take awhile to get back to you. I also paid for classes that my son didn't do!! ( Never got to be hands on in Electrical, which was crucial to his career!( Restoration of Classic cars & now having a hard time finding a job in his field due to this!))
Otherwise, he got a good education and knows his stuff.

My son attends Ohio Technical College and we have had a great experience with them. We attended an open house before he enrolled and were very impressed. During enrollment we worked with Nader Hassen in admissions and he was always available to answer any questions that we had. OTC definitely goes to a lot of effort to provide parents and students with the resources that they need, and you don't feel like you get lost in the shuffle. I can honestly say that every time I have reached out to them someone gets back to me with an answer in less than 24 hours. My son is now moving onto the Power Generator Program and Nader reached out again and to help us through the process. Almost 2 years after our initial visit and it was really great to be dealing with the same person know that he cares so much about making sure everything goes smoothly. Also, as a parent who is about 11 hours away from the school, it is very comforting to know that the staff at OTC is so attentive. I have nothing but good things to say about the people that I have dealt with there - Cora, Taylor, Nader, Sarah, Bonnie (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone).
As for the housing - it is through Collegiate Housing and not technically Ohio Technical College, although OTC does facilitate the housing. The folks at housing are very helpful (Marie and Carly) and also very responsive. The apartments are not the greatest from our experience, but we aren't familiar with the area so it was easier than trying to shop for an apartment on our own.

Diesel program

Not hands on like they say .
Feels like I was paying for public school.
It's all a light show and looks good but lacks substance .

The instructors and other employees are knowledgeable, friendly and kind and help as much as they can within reason .

If you visit take a look at the groups of people on their phones wondering what they are supposed to be doing .

80% of your time will be spent in a class room sitting in power points . 10% if your lucky will be trying to decifer a task that was assigned to you and trying to find wrenches and sockets . The other 10% of the time will be spent trying to find a YouTube video on how to do the task .

The school uses kahoots which is a computer program used for elementary students to do quizzes and tests . You will review the same 10 question kahoot 2-3 times so you memorize the quiz and then take the quiz so everyone gets a passing grade . If the school doesn't do this students would fail and their wouldn't be students paying to be there . Looks good on paper ! Just like the dazzling light show you see when you visit.

I asked when do we get to do hands on training and it was oh next class, next class ! It just never was next class just more power points and students standing around wondering what to do .

Just south of $40k for only tuition ...... Maybe around $10-$15k for tuition . For $40k your not going to come out with any practical hands on experience .

Overall it was a disappointing experience because I really wanted to learn a different trade .People were fine building is fine just seemed the lack of proper tools and get your hands on things and work on stuff wasn't there .

I only studied for a month and my supposed teacher and War Veteran like my Dad, He started making Racist jokes with words in Spanish,This Trash is a War Veteran,,, not like my Dad,That Welding Teacher lost a son to suicide and his son was 13 years old,,, Obviously because of his father's ideologies , OTC is an Academy with Supremacist ideologies and I do not recommend it, and I am a Citizen by birth,,, OTC is just Trash,, Cuyahoga Community College is the Best for Everyone, TheTeachers have to be mentally evaluated for OTC. A teacher with mental problems is not a good option. If a teacher loses a child to suicide, possibly something was wrong with the teacher.

I went here in 2010 and it was an awesome and very educational experience with exceptional instructors full of passion and care towards every student. I went on to eventually be the head technician and shop manager at a small Mom and Pop motorcycle shop. It was that training and passion to do the job correctly the first time that led me to a career in Aviation where I'm now a quality inspector. I love my job and it all started with the Power Sport Institute. THANK YOU!!

I have nothing but accolades for OTC and the staff that makes this school unique. My son is graduating from the Diesel program, with a job waiting for him and fantastic training under his belt. Staff made themselves available for guidance, mentoring and any direction along the way. Nader Hassen was exceptional in offering help with scholarships, professional leadership, as well as some cheerleader. Fantastic experience all around. My son is confident and ready to begin his career.

My son, nephew and husband and myself had an amazing tour at Ohio tech. We were well informed about the program and what it takes to be successful at Ohio tech. The staff was thorough and well educated about the programs offered at Ohio tech. Both my son and nephew will be attending the welding program in the fall. Overall, we all had an amazing experience
